TEHRAN (FNA)- A prominent Jordanian analyst said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent demand from the Arab states to form a coalition against Iran is aimed at plundering them.

“The Zionist regime uses enmity with Iran to lead the coalition for its own interests and will not enter a war with Iran in support of these countries,” Khalil Alian wrote in the Arabic-language al-Sabil newspaper on Saturday.

He added that Israel is attempting to plunder the Persian Gulf Arab countries’ wealth by selling them weapons for use in this alleged coalition.

Alian stressed that enmity with Iran is only a mask to cover up the Zionist regime attempt to quench its thirst for the resources of the Persian Gulf Arab states.

The Jordanian analyst said that Israel is also trying to violate the Palestinian people’s right by establishing Jerusalem as its capital through this coalition.

His remarks came after reports said that Netanyahu has reached out certain Persian Gulf Arab states’ leaders, calling on them for formation of a coalition against Iran.

Iran has many times underlined the need for unity among the regional states to establish security and stability in the region.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in his 2019 address to the UN General Assembly unveiled Iran's new initiative for the establishment of peace and security in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, and said, " The goal of the Coalition for Hope is to promote peace, stability, progress and welfare for all the residents of the Strait of Hormuz region, and to enhance mutual understanding and peaceful and friendly relations amongst them."

"This initiative includes various venues for cooperation, such as the collective supply of energy security, freedom of navigation and free transfer of oil and other resources to and from the Strait of Hormuz and beyond," he added.

"The Coalition for Hope is based on important principles such as compliance with the goals and principles of the United Nations, mutual respect, equal footing, dialog and understanding, respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty, inviolability of international borders, the peaceful settlement of all disputes, and more importantly, the two fundamental principles of non-aggression and non-interference in the domestic affairs of each other. The presence of the United Nations is necessary for the creation of an international umbrella in support of the Coalition for Hope," President Rouhani underlined.
